On 13 May 2026, an official visit to ACCA headquarters in London took place by the President of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (SOEL), Mr Apostolos Polyzos, and the President Institute of Education of SOEL (IESOEL), Mr Charilaos Alamanos, within the framework of the continuous strengthening of cooperation between the two organisations.

Representing SOEL and IESOEL at the meeting were Mr Panagiotis Alamanos Member of the Supervisory Council of SOEL, Ms Maria Tyrovola, Head of International Affairs of SOEL, and Ms Despoina Lekka, Director of Education of SOEL / IESOEL, who contributed substantially to the discussions regarding the further development of cooperation between the organizations.

Representing ACCA were Ms Helen Brand, Chief Executive of ACCA, Ms Caitriona Allis, Head of Europe, Ms Jelena Green, Education Relationships Lead – Europe, Ms Danielle Evans, Regional Head of Learning and Education, Mr Tom Spencer, Universities Development Lead, Ms Joanne Jackson, Recognition and JES Manager, as well as Ms Lorraine Harvie, Professional Qualifications Accreditation Manager at ACCA.

During the meeting, the future developments of the ACCA Qualification were presented, together with ACCA’s innovative approaches to learning and assessment, with particular emphasis on the digital transformation of professional education. In addition, the BSc Professional Accounting programme of the University of London and the academic and professional development opportunities it offers to students and professionals in the sector were also presented.

At the same time, representatives of the organisations had the opportunity to discuss important topics such as ACCA’s strategic priorities and international policies, ACCA’s digital transformation and new partner portal, joint ACCA – SOEL – IESOEL events and initiatives in Greece, as well as future actions to further promote the JES partnership.

Particular importance was attached to the meeting with ACCA Chief Executive Ms Helen Brand, during which the renewal agreement for the ACCA Certificate in International Financial Reporting (Cert IFR) and the ACCA Certificate in International Public Sector Accounting Standards (Cert IPSAS), delivered by IESOEL in the Greek language, was officially signed.

With the signing of the agreement, the cooperation is extended until 31 October 2027, confirming the commitment of both organisations to continue providing high-level specialised professional education in the Greek market and internationally recognised certifications in the Greek language. The renewal of the agreement further confirms the successful and long-standing cooperation between ACCA and SOEL / IESOEL in delivering internationally recognised professional certifications in Greek.
