The ICAEW and SOEL/IESOEL are committed to shaping the Chartered Accountants and Certified Public Accountant of tomorrow through the implementation of targeted initiatives at leading Greek universities. With the primary aim of bridging academic knowledge with professional practice, these initiatives provide meaningful support to students as they transition into the labour market.
It is worth noting that ICAEW is the only professional body offering the internationally recognised Chartered Accountant qualification in Greece, representing the highest level of technical expertise and ethical excellence in the accounting and auditing profession.
Recent ICAEW initiatives in Greece were delivered in close collaboration with SOEL/IESOEEL, highlighting the value of international cooperation in promoting high standards in education and the auditing profession.
The initiatives were implemented across five key pillars:
1. “False Assurance” workshops with PwC, KPMG and SOL Crowe
In collaboration with the Athens University of Economics and Business, the University of Thessaly and the University of West Attica, interactive workshops were delivered based on ICAEW’s educational film False Assurance.
Students had the opportunity to analyse real-life audit challenges, discuss ethical dilemmas and apply professional judgement under the guidance of experienced professionals:

• KPMG Greece: Dimitris Tanos, Partner & Konstantinos Pistelas, Director
• SOL Crowe: Penny Sdralia, Senior Audit Manager / IESOEEL Lecturer
2. “All Too Familiar” workshop with Deloitte
In collaboration with the University of the Peloponnese, an educational workshop was delivered based on ICAEW’s award-winning film All Too Familiar, which focuses on economic crime and the fight against money laundering.
The discussion was facilitated by Fay Prokopi, Assistant Manager Audit, Deloitte.
3. Employability skills workshop and HR Career Fair
At the University of Piraeus, the event ICAEW Future-Ready: Essential Employability Skills for Career Success was successfully delivered, with the participation of leading audit firms and the valuable contribution of Ms Despina Lekka, Head of Education, IESOEEL.
The panel included representatives from Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC, while the Career Fair featured Baker Tilly, BDO, Deloitte, EY, Grant Thornton, KPMG, PwC and SOL Crowe.
4. Collaboration with highly regarded professionals
The workshops were supported by senior market professionals with extensive experience in the auditing field, offering students direct exposure to the realities of the profession and valuable career guidance.
