ACCA/SOEL Career Day at University of Patras

On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, the “ACCA/SOEL Career Day” event was successfully held at the Conference and Cultural Center of the University of Patras, attracting a large number of students. The event was organized in collaboration with the Master’s Program in “Accounting in the Modern Management Environment” of the Department of Business Administration, the Department of Accounting and Finance of the University of the Peloponnese, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (SOEL), and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

The event attracted more than 400 students and recent graduates, who had the opportunity to gain in-depth insights into career paths and the skills required in today’s job market.

Keynote speeches by distinguished guests added significant value to the event, highlighting trends and new developments in the auditing and accounting sectors. On behalf of the University of the Peloponnese, speeches were delivered by Mr. Ilias Makris, Professor and Chair of the Department of Accounting and Finance, and Mr. Vasileios Giannopoulos, Assistant Professor of the same department. From the University of Patras, speeches were given by Mr. Christos Bouras, Professor and Rector of the University of Patras, Mr. Georgios Androulakis, Professor and Chair of the Department of Business Administration, and Mr. Antonios Georgopoulos, Professor and Member of the Coordinating Committee of the Master’s Program in “Accounting in the Modern Management Environment.” Additionally, a short greeting was given by Mr. Georgios Pappas, Certified Public Accountant and President of the Economic Chamber of Northwestern Peloponnese and Western Greece.

Following the speeches, a presentation of the Joint Exam Scheme (JES) was delivered by Mr. Stelios Dotsias, FCCA, CIA, Educational Consultant at IESOEL, and Mr. Marios Evripidou, Business Relationship Manager at ACCA Southern Europe. Their engaging presentations highlighted the benefits of the JES program, which combines the expertise of both organizations, allowing participants to obtain professional certification from both bodies while also opening doors to an international career.
