UoM/ACCA/SOEL Career Fair

With great success, the “ACCA/SOEL Career Fair” event was concluded, organized by the Department of Accounting and Finance of the School of Business Administration Sciences at the University of Macedonia (UoM), in collaboration with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (SOEL) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Ceremony Amphitheater of the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki.

The event served as a meeting point for more than 900 students and graduates, who had the opportunity to engage with top companies and expand their career prospects.

Prominent industry representatives honored the event with their speeches. Among them were Mr. Stylianos D. Katranidis, Rector of the University of Macedonia, Mr. Christos Negkakis, Professor of Accounting at the Department of Accounting and Finance and a member of the University’s Governing Council, Mr. Dimitris Koutsopoulos, CEO of Deloitte Greece and speaker of SOEL’s Supervisory Board, Mr. Marios Evripidou, Business Development Manager of ACCA Southern Europe and Mr. Kostas Kontogiannis, Chief Financial Officer of Skroutz.gr.

The speeches focused on the challenges and prospects of the auditing and accounting profession, as well as trends and opportunities in the financial sector. Additionally, discussions covered career development and certification opportunities through the Joint Examination Scheme (JES) of ACCA and SOEL, offered by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (IESOEL), allowing students to obtain the professional title of both institutions and pursue an international career.

Two distinguished figures in the auditing and accounting industry further enhanced the event’s prestige with their presence: Mr. Apostolos Polyzos, President of SOEL, and Mr. Charilaos Alamanos, President of IESOEL, contributing to the discussion on the future and prospects of the profession.
